Head Waiter – Restaurant

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and polished Head Waiter / Maître d' to lead service at a fine-dining restaurant in Austria. You will be responsible for the overall dining experience, managing the front-of-house team and maintaining the highest service standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the restaurant floor team during all service periods
• Welcome and seat guests, managing reservations and floor plans
• Provide expert menu guidance and wine pairing recommendations
• Handle VIP bookings and ensure personalized service for key guests
• Manage staff briefings, training, and performance reviews
• Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure seamless service timing

Requirements

• 3+ years in a senior waiter or maître d' role in a fine-dining setting
• Fluent English; German is a strong advantage
• Wine knowledge and sommelier awareness beneficial
• Impeccable presentation and communication skills
• Strong leadership and conflict-resolution abilities
